I was educated as a lawyer but have always loved the world of make-believe. I’ve written several screenplays; this is my first novel. I have always been intrigued by the clandestine operations of the intelligence agencies, in particular their forays into the tapestry of Miami’s Latin culture. Here, at the gateway to the Southern Hemisphere, the C.I.A.’s recruiters find manpower for covert missions deep in the jungle hideaways of South American guerilla forces.

My inspiration for Jacob’s Ladder came from my interviews in Miami with the family members of a former C.I.A. Operative, touted by many as the killer of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara, in the remote jungles of the Andes Mountains of Bolivia.   In Colombia, these same Andes Mountains were the setting for deep cover operations of C.I.A. Operative Raymond Foster against the F.A.R.C, the modern day Marxist rebel forces whose reign of terror continues.
